    Fix

    1. Update the on-premises data gateway to the latest version and restart the gateway service.
    2. Confirm the gateway host is online and can reach the data source.

    timeout The refresh was cancelled after it ran past the Power BI refresh time limit. The operation was still processing when the service dropped it. Long-running refreshes on a large model routinely hit this ceiling as the data grows, so each scheduled run finishes closer to the limit until one tips over.

    Fix

    1. Switch the dataset to incremental refresh so each run only processes recent partitions instead of the full history, and push the heaviest transformations upstream into the source query to shorten the run.
